The Telephone Tables

This pair of telephone tables was another super cheap garage sale find. I picked them up in the same trip as the bistro table set, as well as the shelves. My lucky day!

I know, the original function of the telephone table is extinct at this point. But did you know: where that old phone book would have sat is a great spot for a laptop computer? We don’t have an office in our little apartment, so we need little storage nooks like this to keep all of our tech neatly organized. But this orange-tinted wood stain is not my jam. (Photos do not do the orange justice.) It needed a facelift before it could have new life in our tech gadget world.

I cleaned, stripped and sanded both tables down to the gorgeous wood underneath. I’m no wood connoisseur, but I believe it is pine. If I’m wrong, let me know what it is, because I love its natural look.

Let me tell you - it took quite a bit of elbow grease. I had many nights in a row repeating the same processes to get every little detail. My hands and arms HURT! But it was so worth it in the end.
